Google is about to introduce it's own gaming platform whose name has been roumered to be "yeti". You won't need to download games to play them. All the games are hosted in remote servers and then streamed to the yeti's hardware. It is similar to PlayStation Now, Nvidia GeForce Now and Xbox Gamepass. Yeti won't be needing powerful hardware to play hardware demanding games. This saves the time of downloading huge games. And the tech giant also have to attract developers to its new gaming platform.
4K gaming is mainstream today. PC gamers have been playing in 4k resolution since 2014. Microsoft introduced the most powerful game console last year, the Xbox One X which is mainly focused on 4k 60 fps gaming.
It will be a major challenge for Google to keep up with them here. The customers must have high speed internet connection for streaming games. So imagine how fast the connection must be to stream games in 4k. The end of net neutrality in USA will definitely make ISPs more greedy and they will take advantage of this
